Sava Papos

Sava is a Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist and Exercise and Sport Scientist, currently studying a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology at Curtin University. Sava commenced Yoga in the Hatha and Iyengar traditions before discovering and settling on Ashtanga Yoga as his practice of choice. He teaches yin yoga and modern vinyasa from these foundations to provide a therapeutic, grounding and meditative experience of linking movement to breath.

Sava has over 1000 hours of training in yoga and therapeutics including Trauma Informed Yoga, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Meditation, Burnout, and Yoga for Athletes. Through his study of Orthopaedics in Yoga, he has an informed understanding of the body’s function and dysfunction to guide safe and effective movement practices. He has co-developed an evidence-based course of mindful movement for chronic pain and has presented at international yoga conferences. Along with his academic study, he continues to learn from and explore yoga methods to assist him in his delivery of group yoga classes designed to calm and settle the nervous system, while encouraging safe range of motion, mobility and strength for health.
