Gems of the Gita

Description

Professional development for yoga teachers with Meredith Forder.

In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonical philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita.” — Henry David Thoreau

The Bhagavad Gita is a 5000 year old text, written by sage Vyasa. It is a manual for life and living. Just as we require an instruction manual for various appliances, we require a manual to be able to live a peaceful and prosperous life, free from worry, anxiety, fear and stress.

The philosophy of the Gita is Vedanta. Vedanta is a 10,000 year old science of the individual, which presents the eternal principles and higher values of life and living. These values and principles do not change with time or age, making the Gita as relevant today as it was 5000 years ago.

The theme of the Gita is a conversation between Lord Krishna and warrior-prince Arjuna. It is set on the battlefield, in the midst of two armies. Arjuna, who became overwhelmed with emotion, was counselled by Lord Krishna to rise up and fight — fulfilling his obligatory duty and resurrecting righteousness.

The Gems of the Gita is a transformational course that will refresh and revitalise — giving you the tools to rise up to gain peace, high energy and contentment in life.
